All the juicy details!
What I have been wearing
This week is my last week of wearing my 90 day summer capsule and I am still loving it and remarkably still finding new ways to wear my pieces that feel fresh to me.
My 90 day summer capsule breakdown:
💗 37 items
♻️ 25 second hand
✨ 100+ outfits
💗 Rewear
♻️ Restyling
✨ Revitalising
Falling in love with your wardrobe…it’s just stylist math 🤩
In my 90 day capsule:
1 hat
1 scarf
1 playsuit
1 pair of shorts
1 pair of pants
2 skirts
3 pairs of shoes
3 bags
3 belts
10 tops
11 dresses
I have absolutely loved wearing this 90 day summer capsule. It has kept me on the straight and narrow in regards to not buying anything new or second hand and it has really pushed my outfit building abilities to the limit but… The truth is I am very excited to start the new season with some of my old pieces!
The number one thing I love about having a capsule wardrobe for a set amount of time is that all the pieces I haven't been wearing will now feel new to me and give me the same excitement as shopping normally would!
This capsule has open all about the dresses and layering the dresses to gift different looks so I am interested to see what I intuitively pick for autumn and I can't wait to share all my new outfits with you.
If you are interested in trying a capsule wardrobe I would highly recommend the 30x30 to get you started.
The 30x30 fashion challenge was created in 2010 by @kendieeveryday to help you explore your personal style. It can help you get out of a style rut, show you how to do more with less and (my favourite) get you more wears out of your best pieces and closer to the ever elusive 30+ wears!
Here's my twist on the classic to get you thinking about how to get more wears out of the clothes you already own but aren't currently wearing.
Simply choose 30 of your garments in the following breakdown:
10x heroine pieces you LOVE but don’t wear all the time and would like more wear out of
Don't worry too much about the colour/print/fabrication, just choose from the heart and intuition around what you want to be wearing
10x wearable pieces (e.g. that are easy to style that you wear all the time)
Choose these from a similar colour spectrum as your 10 heroine pieces e.g. analogous colours (those next to each other on the colour wheel) or complimentary colours (those exactly opposite each other on the colour wheel)
10x accessories including shoes, bags, hats, jewellery and belts
Choose two pairs of shoes (one light and one dark. They don’t have to be black/white but can be if you wish)
Choose two belts in any colour or fabrication
Choose two pairs of earrings or other accessory that you enjoy wearing
Choose two hats or head accessories such as a scarf
Choose two bags you love
Happy outfit building!
